Lucien Randazzese, PhD, has twenty years of post-doctoral experience in science and technology (S&T) policy, economics and innovation research, and business planning and strategy. His work has included a broad range of projects for the commercial, government and academic sectors, for clients in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Randazzese’s work focuses on helping organizations improve investments and governance related to science and technology. During his tenure at SRI he has led project teams to develop regional research strategies; create national science, technology and innovation (STI) policies and programs; prepare and assess business plans for multiple entities; and apply advanced text analytics and machine learning to understanding the technology development process.
Prior to joining SRI, Randazzese worked in strategic management consulting, primarily in sectors undergoing rapid technological change, including telecommunications, energy, media, cybersecurity, software and financial services. Prior to his consulting career, he served as a research fellow at Harvard University.
Randazzese received a doctorate degree in engineering and public policy from Carnegie Mellon University, where his thesis won the Herbert A. Simon Doctoral Dissertation Award in Behavioral Research. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in microelectronic engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology and began his career as a semiconductor engineer at IBM.
